Gentle Yoga
Gentle yoga is a safe space to ground you in a yoga class that is infused attention to breath and shiatsu. In both yoga and life balance is important as we age (gracefully) gentle yoga explores various modes of gently moving the body. It is after all our practice which we take off the mat helping us to live mindfully and with grace.
Suitable for the complete beginner.
Ashtanga Inspired Yoga
Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic style of yoga, developed in Mysore, India. Yoga Kula Ashtanga is inspired by the traditional primary series. Following a set of postures in a fixed sequence it is characterised by each posture being linked by a joining movement or vinyasa. When practised with the sound integration of breath, movement and the use of gaze points, or “drishti”, the practitioner will flow through a series of postures in a dance like sequence. This series is perfectly designed to realign, detoxify, and purify the body and nervous system.
Suitable for students with an awareness of yoga postures and comfortable with sustained movement.
Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a calming practice that focuses on postures that lengthen the muscles surrounding the hips, pelvis, lower back and shoulders. Supported postures are held from 3-5 minutes. Using traditional Chinese medicine benefits include slowing down the mind, lowering the heart rate & blood pressure, easing joint and back pain and promoting healing and rejuvenation and better sleep.
Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa yoga strings together yoga postures in a flowing sequence of breath and movement. Sequences are conducted ata moderate pace to raise the heartbeat and create warmth in the body. Seated and/or moving meditation are part of each class.
Suitable for students with an awareness of yoga postures and comfortable with sustained movement.
